Commodore PET/CBM series

The first computer made by Commodore after the MOS take over was the PET, later called CBM series. Also Chuck Peddle was responsible for this fine machine for these days. Together with the Apple II and the TRS-80 this started the massproduction of ready-to-run computers for the home and small office.
The first PET was the PET2001, with the calculator style keyboard an builtin cassettetape machine. Quickly followed by the CBM 30xx series with quality keybaords and more memory. See here for pictures of my hardware and books of this range: PET2001, CBM3032 and the CBM3040 dual floppy drive. The CBM series existed long in the Commodore range, oriented at the business user.

PET2001

The first Commdore computer, ready to run. In good condition, though the keyboard is still as lousy as I discovered in 1979 in the review I wrote for Radio Bulletin. Read this dutch article here

CBM3032 and CBM8032

Dropping the builtin cassette tape drive, adding more memory (32K), fixing bugs that made the PET2001 difficult to work with IEEE-488 devices made the CBM series a success in the business world.

Picture of CMBM8032 coming soon!

CBM3040

The IEEE-488 diskdrive CBM3040 is a good companion for the CBM3032 machine. Dual floppy drives with a 170KB capacity and a heavy metal casing.
